GST impact on Toyota cars
- From 22 September 2025, India’s new GST structure for passenger vehicles came into effect.
- Smaller cars with petrol engines up to 1200cc and diesels up to 1500cc under 4 meters in length now fall under 18% GST, replacing earlier higher slabs with additional cess.
- Larger vehicles and SUVs still attract higher GST, but cess adjustments have lowered effective prices.
- Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has passed on these GST savings to its customers, reducing prices across its sedan, MPV, and SUV lineup.
